Stay relaxed at night
Most of students are now on summer break, this is great, we're able to forget everything about school, or at least we try to, or in my case I try, but sometimes it's a bit complicated because even though I forget the school during the day, in the night usually I have nightmares about it. Dreams where I'm about to do a hard exam and I didn't study about it, where I got a bad note, or similar stuff, it is a terrible way to spend your night, and the worse is that the next morning you're totally tired. So I have tried different ways to relax and I share some tips with you, so you will be able to forget about any problem during night and day as well.
- Read a book before sleep (no related with school stuff): During the nights before I go to sleep, I take a book and read a chapter, I have realised my mind gets invoved in the story and then is likely that I dream with someone related to the book instead to school. A book that worked really good for me was the Lake House by Kate Morton (currently I'm reading Sherlock Holmes so the blood and crime is always there, it works for me but I don't know if it'd work for you tbh). I'll make a post about my favourite books soon.
- Listen some classical music. I know some of you don't like this kind of music, but give it a try, maybe at the begining you might find it boring, but later I'm sure you'll start to love it, as I do now, actually I started listening this music before I was born, later mom got the cd's for me when I was on elementary school, and currently I'm learning to play it on my violin cause I do love it. Moreover, this kind of music has big advantages to your brain.
- Go for a walk. It's great walking for a bit before sleep, if you can't go out, try in your house, as you know the exercise is good for you mental health.
- Drink some milk, eat an apple. I know this sounds as a mom's advice, but it really helps, milk and apples allow you to fall asleep faster and relaxed, seriously, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Avoid a big dinner.
- Try to avoid device. Stay away of social media, internet at least one hour before you go to sleep, the light affects you more than you believe, trust me, there are documentaries about it.
- Do your favourite activity. I love to write, so I write a bit before I go to bed, read a book, draw a bit, you can do anything you want to feel relaxed. Except social media as I already said.
- Try ambience sounds. Yes, I know this sounds very weird, but I discovered these videos when I was surfing the net, and I found them out and trust me, they're great! There are some of eight hours, you can listen them while you're sleeping, and there are of rainy sounds, night in the forest, I did like them, even there are of Baker Street! I think is great when you want to read a bit, sleep, study and even stay away of your life for a while.
