My bloody hero
May 26th is a special day for me, because 120 years ago was released one of my favourite books of all the time by Bram Stoker. Yes, I'm talking about Dracula, the succesful story about a vampire, but not any vampire, the best one.
Although I remember Dracula of all the life, I remember very well my first meeting with him. I was about four or five years when my grandmother gave me some magazines. -I did love to read since I learnt to- the best of these magazines was they had a comic at the end, I remember the first one I read had Romeo and Juliet, the second one had Lazarillo de Tormes and the last one was that one: Dracula.
I remember I used to read it all the time, -even though it was just an abstract- I found the plot very interesting , Jonathan Harker in a strange castle as a prisioner by a person who was a monster? and wanted to kill him drinking all his blood. Interesting, isn't it? Even interesting for a five years girl. -I guess I was never normal- When I couldn't get over with having just a little part and don't know what happened after that, I started to ask to my dad for that book. He said yes, but I didn't have it until some years later- maybe 5 years later- when I had it in my hands I was so happy and excited at the same time, I used to sit down in the garden when the sun was about to come down and the moon appeared, still better when it rained, I felt weird feelings: fright and happiness maybe.
I used to use a Dracula costume all Halloween nights, I wanted to be a vampire as him, I didn't want Dracula to die, that's the only think I don't like at all in the book, but good always conquers evil,- I wish the same happened in real life- Anyways I still love Dracula too much, and it'll always be one of my favourite books.
Here my favourite quotes related with him:
"We learn from failure not from success"
“I want you to believe...to believe in things that you cannot.”
Have you ever read it? Do you like it?
If you hadn't read it yet, do it now!
Love ya'll x
